Xi’an-A new freight train service was launched on Tuesday to connect the Xi’an transportation hub in northwestern China with Slokov in Poland via the Alataw pass in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
The New China Europe freight train left Xi’an Station, the capital of Shaanxi Province, on Tuesday and traveled 9,478 kilometers, which is expected to take 10 days.
After crossing the Chinese border through the Alataw Pass, the train will pass through Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine to Poland.
Rail services take less time than traditional transportation routes, and fewer train changes are made during long journeys.
Goods sent by freight trains can be distributed on container trucks in Slaukov to countries in Southeast Europe.
