Shanghai-About 100 New Zealand companies will participate in this year’s China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th.
New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE) trade commissioner Damon Paling said dairy products, beef, mutton, fruit and other food and agricultural products will be displayed by New Zealand companies.
“China is our number one trading partner in goods or services. In the past few years, our economic and cultural ties have developed very rapidly.” He noted that bilateral relations involve not only trade but also the two Cultural exchanges between the people of China.
Parin said the annual trade volume between New Zealand and China has reached about NZ $ 30 billion (US $ 19.05 billion). “We hope this number will reach 60 billion by 2030. To achieve this growth, we are very much looking forward to more activities and more cooperation, one of which is the upcoming CIIE.”
With CIIE, New Zealand companies now play a more important role in the Chinese market. Fonterra, the world’s leading dairy company, signed more than $ 1.7 billion in contracts at last year’s CIIE conference.
Fonterra has doubled its CIIE exhibition area this year, will launch high-end milk powder for the first time to meet the special needs of Chinese consumers, and will launch more dairy-based Chinese cooking recipes.
