With the theme of “Building the Belt and Road, Realizing the Vision of a Common Future Community”, this year’s World Expo will raise the overall friendly cooperation between China and ASEAN to a new level through a series of exhibitions, forums and events.
The four-day event will revolve around the “China ASEAN Strategic Partnership Vision 2030” and promote cooperation and consensus among eminent personalities from different countries and international organizations.
It is expected that the Expo’s exhibitions and events will promote China ASEAN Expo in the fields of trade, investment, digital economy, science and technology, finance, e-commerce and tourism.
According to organizers, there will be 2,848 exhibitors to showcase their products this year, an increase of 2.4% over last year’s activities, including industry leaders, Fortune 500 companies and well-known private companies.
Exhibitors this year will enjoy a larger exhibition area, expanding from 10,000 square meters last year to 134,000 square meters.
A special exhibition on the construction of a new international land and sea trade corridor, the Guangxi Free Trade Pilot Zone and the ASEAN Financial Open Gateway will also be held at the Expo to promote the implementation of key mechanisms and projects.
The China ASEAN Expo Business and Investment Summit will be held from Saturday to Tuesday.
Since its inception in 2004, the China ASEAN Expo has promoted China-ASEAN trade. China has expanded its exports of electronic products, building materials, power equipment and construction machinery as well as new energy, high-speed trains and agricultural technology to ASEAN member countries. . Chinese buyers favor EU food, daily necessities and commodities.
China remains ASEAN’s largest trading partner, and the trade volume between the two countries increased to $587.8 billion in 2018. In the first half of this year, bilateral import and export trade volume reached US$291.85 billion, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year, making it the second largest trading partner of ASEAN China.
